DEAD PLANET

Nope, NOT a short story sale! At least, not yet! So please, no congratulations!

Author Michael H. Hanson just submitted an expanded Reprint (a longer version of a previously published short story of his) to the anthology DEAD PLANET for consideration toward publication.

Michael’s story, “Monster” was originally published in the now defunct Planet Magazine, December 2003 issue. Michael has expanded his tale by several hundred words so it would pass the minimum length requirements for submissions… which is 3,000 words. Michael’s roided-up sci-fi/horror story will hopefully be everything this anthology is looking for, i.e., they want Reprints of stories that can be described as [Military Science Fiction Horror].

*******************

“Monster” is the weird tale of an exceptional U.S. Marine who has been accepted into a top secret Soldier Enhancement Program, designed through cutting-edge surgical implants and radical bio-feedback training, to take on extraordinarily dangerous challenges. On his first major field assignment, Master Sergeant William Henshaw’s test is to solo reconnoiter a heretofore unknown and newly discovered deep underground series of ancient caves beneath an abandoned Ghost Town in Arizona. His mission, to confront and eliminate a never before seen highly lethal creature whose presence is only known by the horrifying remains of hundreds of human beings who have dared to intrude on this monster’s dark taboo sanctum.

Modern Warrior meets Ancient Monster. Who, or What, will exit these caves, victorious?

Please wish Michael luck on this submission! The competition is fierce these days and he can use all the positive mojo and vibes you can send his way, folks! Bless you all! 🪖🚀😈
